Directions for Q. No. 1 to 7 : An international bank decided to recruit Management Trainees for its Foreign Exchange Department. The following criteria were laid down. The candidate must be:

A.      B. Com. with minimum 65% marks.

B.      CAIIB with minimum 50% marks.

C.      having working experience of minimum 1 year in Foreign Exchange Department of any bank.

D.      of age between 24 years and 30 years as on lst July, 2006.

E.      ready to keep a deposit of Rs 25,000 with the bank.

          However, if the candidate fulfils all other criteria except

I.       B above, but has completed CAIIB Part I with minimum 60% marks, his case may be referred to the General Manager.

II.      C above, but has 4 years’ experience of working in a bank, his case may be referred to the Chairman.

III.    A above, but has obtained minimum 60% marks in B.Com. as well as CAIIB, his case may be referred to the Managing Director.

Based on the above criteria and the information given in each of the following questions you have to take decision in regard to each case. You are not to assume anything. These cases are given to you as on lst July, 2006.

1.         Niranjan’s father is an industrialist of the city and Niranjan has no problem in keeping any amount as deposit with the bank. He has completed B.Sc. with 68% marks and CAIIB with 60% marks. He is working in a public sector bank as an officer in the Foreign Exchange Department since last 2 years. His date of birth is 25th April, 1981.

He joined a Co-operative bank in 2003 and continues to work there. He was posted in the Foreign Exchange Department in 2004 and is working in the same department at present. He can keep the required amount of deposit with the bank.

She has done a diploma course in Computer programming. She is willing to keep a deposit of minimum Rs 25,000 with the bank.

He has joined a foreign bank in 2004 and was placed in its Foreign Exchange Department in January, 2005. He continues to work with the bank till date. He is ready to keep a deposit of Rs 25,000.

Directions for Q. No. 8 to 14 : Study the following information carefully to answer the question given below it:

The institute of technology runs BC College of Engineering. It applies following criteria for selection of students for admission to the BC College.  The student should

A.      have been born before lst March, 81 and after 28th Feb, 1978.

B.      have obtained minimum 80% marks in aggregate and minimum 90% marks in Mathematics and Science at HSC.

C.      have passed intermediate drawing examination conducted by the State government.             

D.      be willing to pay a deposit of Rs 15,000 as laboratory security.

E.      be found physically fit in the Medical examinations being conducted by the Institute.

However, if the candidate fulfils all other criteria except

I.       Criteria B, but has obtained minimum 85% marks in aggregate as well as in Mathematics and Science, his case may be referred to the Vice-President of the Institute.

II.      Criteria C, but has won award in inter-school drawing competition, his case may be referred to the Principal of the college.

III.    Criteria D, but is a relative of a member of Board of Trustees of the Institute, his case may be referred to the Chairman of the admission committee.

          Based on the above criteria and information given in each case, you have to take a decision. These cases are given to you as on 28th Feb, 1999.

His date of birth is 15th June, 1980. He is physically fit as per the medical examination report of the Institute. He can’t pay more than Rs 10,000 against the security deposit. He has passed the State level intermediate drawing examination.

9.         Narendra, whose date of birth is 21st April, 1979, is a student of Electric Engineering diploma course. He has scored 85% marks in aggregate and 89% marks in Mathematics and Science at HSC examination. He has done a part-time course in Computer operating. He has passed the State level intermediate drawing examination in 1994, obtaining A grade. He has no problems in paying the amount of deposit.

10.      Sunita has passed HSC examination with 82% marks in aggregate and 92% marks in Mathematics and Science. She is found fit in the Medical examination and can pay the required amount of deposit. Her date of birth is lst March, 1981. She has passed the State level intermediate drawing examination.

11.      Virendra, born on 19th Jan, 1980, has passed the HSC examination with 91% marks in Mathematics and Science and on aggregate score of 84%. He will manage to pay the amount of Its 15000 as security deposit to the Institute. He is medically fit as per the report of Institute’s team of doctors. He has passed intermediate drawing examination of the State. However, he could never win a prize in any of the Inter-school drawing competitions.

12.      Sujit, a 20 years old boy, has passed his HSC examination securing 87% marks in aggregate and 88% marks in Mathematics and Science. He is willing to deposit Rs 15,000 as lab security deposit and is found fit by the team of doctors conducting Medical examination. He has passed the intermediate drawing examination of the State.
